The HISTORY OF THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION is “told” to the second generation of ICALDE called “GENERATION CARDINAL TONTI”. This course is part of the fundamental module DE100 of the Master 1 in Right to Education, entitled “THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION”.
The objectives of this course are multiple. First, it will critically reconstruct the historical trajectory of the right to education. Secondly, it will analyse the modalities and forms of integration of the right to education in national legislations. Finally, the contribution of certain actors in the advent of the right to education will be highlighted. In particular, learners will be introduced to the figure of Calasanz, a pioneer of education for all.
This course will be led by the Director of ICALDE, Herrick Djontu. He holds a doctorate in public administration from the University of Grenoble Alpes and is an associate researcher at the Centre d’Études et de Recherche sur la Diplomatie, l’Administration Publique et le Politique (CERDAP2), attached to Sciences Po Grenoble.
